Head smashed in buffalo jump In ancient tims, the indians had perfected the technique of driving large heards of buffalo towards a steed cliff edge, thereby forcing them to jump the cliff and get killed. A ilustration of how the scenario looked. This particular place, called "Head smashed in buffalo jump", got its name when a young indian boy descided that he would see the killing taking place from below the cliff. Unfortunatly he got to close and was hit by the noumerous bisons falling over the cliff and had his head smashed in. Really sad story !. The noumerous skulls which has been escavated at the site. Ground squirrels was present at the site. Quite cute, don't you think ?. We headed on to Banff and Lake Louise in the rockey mountains. Above, Bettina enjoying the view from our rented cano.
