Morea, French Polynesia. December 19, 2002. GMT - 10 Hours
Today we spent some more time snorkling the local reef.
This is really fantastic since the amount of fish here is just unbeliveable.
Saltwater fish are very territorial and stick to the same reef for feeding.
So, even if one manages to scare them away, they will return and check you out if you stay still in the water.
We bought one of these "one time" underwater cameras allowing us to take a few good shots.
We meet the same fish every day on our snorkeling tours.
I guess that we soon will start to give them names.
Santa on water skies. The multitude of fish at the local coral reef.
They have started to decorate our hotel for X-mas, int their own odd way.
Palm trees with X-mas balls and colored glittery paper.
Polynesian songs accompanying well known tunes from home.
Today the hotel delivered X-mas presents to the kids and held a X-mas party in the snack bar.
But best of all, Santa Claus riding water skies in the lagoon, pulled by a jet ski.
It all feels a litte odd, being used to cold weather, snow , Gløg, klejner and typical Danish X-mas cuisine.
But we can asure you faithfull readers, one could get used to it !!
Entertainment at the restaurant. Santa Claus the Polynesian way
Today the restaurant offered a huge seafood buffet, which we didn't think twice about joining.
We have on our tour become infamous for our shrimp eating at these buffets.Once, in Las Vegas, we vere almost arrested for consuming to many shrimps.Well, not quite true, but the local police started taking pictures of us while eating, shrimp. It turned out there had been an accident earlier in the day involving the table we were sitting at, so we weren't busted afterall.
While dining, we vere entertained by a Polynesian song and dance show. Very different from anything we have seen before!
